• American Express offers several credit cards that allow customers to earn membership reward points which they can then trade in for SkyMiles. American Express also has a range of SkyMiles cards geared specifically to customers wishing to earn SkyMiles. The basic Delta SkyMiles credit card offers five thousand bonus miles on your first purchase. It gives a cardholder one mile per eligible dollar, double miles on Delta purchases, plus a bonus of two thousand five hundred miles when a cardholder reaches an eligible ten thousand dollars spent in a calendar year. These cards carry an annual fee.
  
  

Delta SkyMiles Check Card

• SunTrust offers three Delta SkyMiles check cards that allow customers to earn miles in return for everyday purchases and bill payments. These cards include a Delta SkyMiles Classic Check Card, Delta SkyMiles World Check Card and a Delta SkyMiles Business Check Card. These cards are available to customers holding personal or business checking accounts with SunTrust and only earn miles on signature purchases. Signature purchases, or signed purchases, are those which would normally require a signature and do not include non-signature transactions such as ATM withdrawals. The classic card pays two thousand five hundred bonus miles after the first signed purchase and one mile for each two dollars spent on subsequent signed purchases. The world and business cards pay five thousand bonus miles after the first signed purchase and one mile per eligible dollar. All cards carry an annual fee and offer double miles on Delta ticket purchases.
  
  

Delta SkyMiles World MasterCard

• Delta and MasterCard/CapitalOne offer the Delta SkyMiles World MasterCard, which is geared specifically toward earning SkyMiles. Cardholders earn miles for every purchase with the World card at a rate of two miles for each dollar spent on Delta ticket purchases and one mile per dollar on other purchases. The card offers twenty five thousand bonus miles for the first purchase, plus an additional two thousand five hundred miles on each anniversary. It carries a relatively high annual fee and interest rate.
  
  

Delta SkyMiles Gold MasterCard

• Delta and MasterCard also offer the Delta SkyMiles Gold MasterCard, which also earns Delta miles. This card pays two thousand five hundred bonus miles on the first purchase and one mile per dollar spent on Delta tickets. It pays one mile for each two dollars spent on other purchases. There is no annual fee to use this card.
