Whyatt"s Why Writer

Whyatt is the lead Super Reader with the power to read when he becomes Super why in the PBS KIDS show Super Why. Key to his reading ability is the "why writer," which highlights the words for viewing children as Whyatt reads.

Super Why utilizes a number of different strategies in teaching children early literacy skills. Through Whyatt and his why writer, kids can see how to read left to right one word at at time.

Highlighting the word also helps kids begin to recognize different words or solidify reading skills for those who are beginning readers.
