The Irish actor, film producer and environmentalist Pierce Brosnan has joined the crew of Bag of Bones, an American television miniseries an adaptation from the 1998 novel Bag of Bones written by Stephen King.

Brosnan has always been famous for his works as the 007, but after leaving the role of secret agent Bond, he has been having a quite note over the screens. But the 58-year old actor says it's been a long time that he has been away from the TV-Series. Who has been busy with romantic-comedy kind of films, he is ready to get back on-to the small screens playing the role as a writer who seems to be going slowly insane at a remote lake town.

This mini-series will be broadcasted on A&E Network over two nights, in two 2-hour segments starting December 11, 2011 and part 2 on Dec 12, 2011. The story follows with a Best-selling novelist Mike Noonan (Pierce) who is brokenhearted since his wife and unborn child's sudden death. He's completely surrounded y nightmares and forced to go back to their former summer home beside a lake in western Maine. Once he reaches out to the home, he meets up with a young widow, Mattie (Melissa George), and her daughter, Kyra (Caitlin Carmichael) and they soon become friends.

Soon he finds out that Mattie is in middle of lawsuit for custody with her father-in-law, Max (William Schallert) during this Noonan gets involved. However the writer is still battling nightmares that later turn into something much bigger like visits from the spirit of a blues singer, Sarah Tidwell (Anika Noni Rose). During these visits he finds out through her his nightmarish dreams, and clues hidden in his previously unpublished work, he learns truths about himself and the town.

This series is typical King thriller, with a host of supernatural and psychological twists. When asked about the present James Bond who has taken up the role since his departure Brosnan showered words of praise for the actor currently playing Bond 007 Daniel Craig. He also added saying that Craig is one great Bond. Certainly does a magnificent job. He's a tough dude. They have to, because of the big competition with Bourne Identity and one thing or another.

Brosnan's recent big screen project was, I Don't Know How She Does It, an American comedy film based on Allison Pearson's novel of the same name, starring along with Sarah Jessica Parker and Greg Kinnear.
