The Bahamas are an ideal location for vacations for several reasons. One is the impeccable weather. Being tropical, the Bahamas do not really have seasons, and simply fluctuate between wet and dry. The dry seasons are not as dry as a desert, but have less rain than the wet seasons. Thus, it's easy to predict the weather and plan a trip accordingly. Instead of planning around weather from day to day, such as is necessary in the Midwest or other inland locations, it's possible to plan from month to month. The reason for this is that the ocean tends to equalize the temperatures from day to night and from summer to winter.
Another great reason to vacation in the Bahamas is that it is close to the mainland United States. Vacationers in the eastern US especially can visit the Bahamas with a minimum of travel time. The best vacations are those that are low stress. While places like Hawaii or Europe are interesting, they are several time zones away from the mainland of the United States. The Bahamas, just off our doorstep, are a great way to have an exotic vacation without the not-so-exotic effect of jet lag. You'll leave from Florida, and circle around waters that teem with tropical fish and other wonderful sights, and return back to where you came from. The relatively stow-moving ship does not cross time zones enough for the effect of jet lag to be felt.
Things you'll see on a Bahamas cruise include, of course, the beauty of nature. Go up on the deck at the beginning and end of the day, and you'll see sunset and sunrise. Ocean sunsets are often much more beautiful than those on land, since the humidity in the air refracts the light more than dry air. Furthermore, the sky over the open ocean is huge, and stretches from one horizon to the other. Drink in the sea breezes while you enjoy the beauty of nature.
Ocean wildlife is also abundant in the Bahamas and Caribbean Ocean area. Dolphins often follow the ship, or €surf€ on the bow and stern waves created by the ship. Go to front and back of the ship and look down to see them. Whales surface at a greater distance, and although they don't typically play with the ship (which is probably a good thing), they are curious animal and will often move close to investigate.
