- While both models are designed with a filter capable of removing pet dander and other materials from the air, the NV22 is also equipped with a pet brush not found on the NV22L. The "Premium Pet Brush" is designed to grab stubborn pet hairs from fabric and pull them away from the surface, allowing you to more easily clean hair and dander from your furniture and carpet.
- The largest difference between the two models is the design of the body of the vacuum. The standard model, NV22, is a standard upright bagless vacuum design. The NV22L, standing for Lift-away, is a redesigned version of the NV22 featuring a lift-away canister. For those times you only want to use the attachment hose, the canister detaches and can be pulled around behind the hose. This keeps the upright from falling over or being difficult to maneuver while using the hose.
- The NV22 uses a standard four-wheel mechanism to roll across the floor, requiring the user to move in a sweeping motion while moving the handle to turn. The NV22L is equipped with a swivel base that allows the vacuum to turn quickly and sharply without extra movement required. A slight lean of the handle in one direction will cause the base to rotate and lead the body in that direction.
- While both vacuums come with a replacement bag and a 24-inch crevice tool, the NV22L also comes standard with additional accessories. In addition to the 24-inch crevice tool, a 5.5-inch crevice tool is included. While the NV22L does not come with the pet brush, it does have a dusting brush and a large turbo brush in its place. All of these additional accessories can be stored in the accessory tool holder, which also comes with the NV22L.
