- 1). Detach the buckle from the leather belt.
- 2). Wrap the leather strap around the outside of the cap and trim the excess leather so that the two ends meet evenly.
- 3). Use a heavy needle and thread to sew the two leather ends together. Reinforce the connection with hot glue.
- 1). Spread the 30 eagle feathers out on an ironing board, place a cotton t-shirt over them. Iron the feathers with medium heat until they are flat and crisp.
- 2). Start about 2 inches from the tip of one eagle feather quill and hot glue baby feathers along the quill to give the eagle feathers a ruffled look. Continue this step for all 30 eagle feathers.
- 3). Wrap the tip of each eagle feather quill with thin strips of the animal hide and hot glue it in place.
- 4). Arrange the feathers so that they look balanced when they will be hanging from the headdress.
- 5). Cut a long, string-like piece of animal hide and thread it through the leather loops on the feathers.
- 6). Wrap the hide around the leather headband and adjust the feathers so that they are evenly spaced out and hang down the same way. Hot glue the hide in place on the inside of the headband.
