The Grandma's birthday is tomorrow and your child wants to help bake and decorate the cake.
You want an easy birthday cake.
How about a 9 x 13 inch cake.
Flour the pan and mix the cake mix.
That part is easy enough.
You can do that.
Now bake it at 350 for about 25 minutes or so.
You don't want to bake it too long as it will be dry.
This will be an easy birthday cake so don't worry.
When it is done take it out of the pan.
Put it on an over sized piece of cardboard that you covered with foil.
You will want to scrape the sides before doing this Put the cardboard on the pan then flip it.
If it doesn't come out put a wet towel on the bottom of the pan which will now be on top.
Put the cake in the freezer.
Chill about 2 hours.
Now you can ice it with bought icing.
Get some m&ms or other candies.
Let your child make the HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA in M & Ms.
Use a toothpick to outline it and then let them place the M&Ms in the outline.
Mini M&Ms work real well but kids might not be able to hold those as well.
If you want you can use other gum drops for borders or something else.
Just use what ever candy is Grandma's favorite or what you have.
This is an easy birthday cake and we know Grandma will love it because it was made by one of her favorite people in the world.
