- 1). Scrape away the remaining acrylic paint with a dull knife.
- 2). Apply paint and varnish remover to carpet stains, starting from the outer edge of the stain and working inward. Allow the paint remover to soak in for a few minutes.
- 3). Use the knife to continue scraping away the acrylic paint as the paint remover starts to work.
- 4). Pour some glycerin onto the stain and rub it in gently. Let it sit for a few hours.
- 5). Fill a small bucket with water and add a few drops of dishwashing detergent. Dab the remaining acrylic paint stain with the soapy water and a white cloth. Blot until the carpet is nearly dry.
- 6). Empty the bucket, rinse and add 10 parts water and 1 part vinegar if any stains remain. Use this new mixture to dab the stain with a white cloth.
- 7). Rinse with a cloth soaked in cool water.
- 1). Use a dull knife to scrape away any acrylic paint remaining on the surface of the upholstery or fabric.
- 2). Rinse the stain under running warm water, if the stain is on fabric or a removable cushion cover. Rinse from behind to remove as much of the stain as possible.
- 3). Mix together equal parts of water and dishwashing detergent in a small bucket. Use warm water for fabric, and cool water for upholstery. Use the solution to dab the stain with a white cloth to remove the majority of the paint.
- 4). Dab the stain with a new cloth and acetone to remove the remainder of the acrylic paint stain. Rinse upholstery with a cloth soaked in cool water, then launder the fabric as normal.
