Free Winter Movies at Ballpark Village in St. Louis
You can't catch a Cardinals game at Ballpark Village during the winter months, but there's still a reason to make the trip to downtown St. Louis. The Winter Movie Series is your chance to see a free film on the Village's 40-foot indoor screen.
When and Where:
The Winter Movie Series is a new event for 2015. It's held once a month from January through March. In 2015, the movie nights are January 28, February 18 and March 25. Family-friendly movies will be shown on the large indoor TV at Fox Sports Midwest Live!
Food and drinks will also be available for purchase, including a variety of burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads.
2015 Schedule of Movies:
All of the movies start at 6 p.m. This year's films are all rated PG.
January 28 - Despicable Me
February 18 - Cool Runnings
March 25 - Cool Runnings
Where to Park:
Free parking is available at the surface lots on either side of Ballpark Village. Those lots are located at Clark and 8th Street, and at Clark and Broadway. Anyone who arrives before 9 p.m., can get three hours of free parking during the off-season. Another option is to park at one of the many surface lots near Busch Stadium. During the winter months, all-day parking is usually available for $5 for less.
Also at Ballpark Village:
You might also want to make time to check out some of the other attractions at Ballpark Village. There are more than a dozen restaurants and nightclubs offering live music, drinks and dancing. If you're a baseball fan, don't miss your chance to see the Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum.
The museum has thousands of photos, artifacts and other memorabilia from more than 100 years of St. Louis Cardinals history. The Hall of Fame and Museum is open most days from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children ages four to 15.
More Free Winter Events
In addition to the Winter Movie Series at Ballpark Village, St. Louis has some other good options for free things to do in the winter. While you're already downtown, consider making a stop to the Museum of Westward Expansion and the grounds of the Gateway Arch. There are also plenty of chances to see bald eagles on both sides of the Mississippi River. And many of the area's top free attractions have special events in the winter.
