"Amazing Adventures: The Lost Tomb" is a puzzle game that takes you on expeditions in Egypt. Using an ancient map, you search various locations for clues that will lead you to the Lost Tomb of Egypt. "The Lost Tomb" includes hidden-object puzzles and mini-games that must be completed during your quest. - "Amazing Adventures: The Lost Tomb" includes 20 missions divided into more than 100 levels. In each level, you must complete a hidden-object game and an additional mini-game within the 20-minute time limit to move on to the next level. The mini-games include jigsaw, tile-swap, memory and spot-the-difference puzzles.
The "Hint" button can be used for help in the hidden-object and spot-the-differences games. "The Lost Tomb" features unlimited hints, although the "Hint" button requires a few seconds to recharge after each use. While there is no penalty for using a hint, you will receive a 15,000-point bonus if you can complete a level without using hints. - You'll receive a list of 10 items that must be found in each location. Each word on the list may refer to the actual item or a word that represents the item. Some words have multiple meanings; "club" could mean a bludgeoning weapon or a playing card in the club suit.
Words on the list may also be clues that need to be deciphered; these clues usually appear in capital letters. The word "ribbit" in capital letters may refer to a picture of a toad or the word "toad" written somewhere in the scene. The clue "casino blackjack" might refer to the number "21." - While it doesn't appear on the list, each hidden-object game includes one scarab. The "Hint" button can't be used to locate a scarab. As with other items in these puzzles, the scarab might be a picture of the creature or the word "scarab." Some locations on the map will be visited several times during the quest, but once you find a scarab in a place, no scarabs will appear there again. It may be useful to keep note of the places where you've already found scarabs as a reminder that you no longer need to look for one there.
- The speed bonus is awarded in both the hidden-object games and mini-games for rapidly solving puzzles. In most mini-games, the speed bonus can be easily obtained when you're close to finishing the puzzle. In the jigsaw and tile-swap games, the last few puzzle pieces can be rapidly put into place, earning extra points. In the hidden-object games, it can be useful to refrain from collecting items until you have located two or more of them, allowing you to click on them in succession to get the bonus.
- The Secret Game mode is unlocked by either completing all the missions in the Basic Game mode or collecting all 21 scarabs hidden throughout the hidden-object games. In the Secret Game mode, you can revisit every location and search for all of the items that are hidden there.
