• Sonic Riders was released on February 21, 2006 for the PC, Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox. It features over a dozen playable characters both familiar and new to the Sonic franchise. Sonic Riders has been rated "E for Everyone" by the Electronic Software Rating Board.
  
  

Random Character Selection

• If you're unsure of what character you want to choose for a race (or if you just don't care), you can take advantage of Sonic Riders' hidden random selection option. Hold down the "R" button and release it to enable random selection on the GameCube version, or hold down the "R1" button and release it to enable random selection on the Playstation 2 version.
  
  

Super Sonic

• Super Sonic can be unlocked through a two-step process in Sonic Riders. First, complete each mission in the game with a gold medal on each; this will give you the Chaos Emerald Gear. Use this on Sonic and you'll be able to play as Super Sonic. This process can be used to unlock Super Sonic in all versions of Sonic Riders.
  
  

Unlockable Characters

• A variety of different racers can be unlocked and used for play in Sonic Riders, regardless of what version of the game you are playing. Play the game for 20 hours or complete 100 different races to unlock the robot E-10000 G. Play the game for 50 hours to unlock the robot E-10000 R. Beat "Hero Story Mode" to unlock Cream the Rabbit, Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Hedgehog. Finally, beat "Babylon Story Mode" to unlock the nefarious Dr. Eggman.
  
  

Unlockable Character Missions

• Some characters in Sonic Riders have their own missions that need to be unlocked. Unlock Storm's missions by beating "Hero Story Mode." Unlock Wave's missions by completing "Babylon Red Canyon" or "Night Chase" and unlock Jet's missions by beating both Storm's and Wave's missions and unlocking both of the bonus Sega race tracks.
  
  

Characters From Other Sega Games

• Hidden characters from other Sega titles can be unlocked and later used for play in Sonic Riders. For example, completing all of the "Jet," "Storm" and "Wave" missions in the game will unlock AiAi from the game "Super Monkey Ball," Nights from the game "Nights Into Dreams" and Ulala from the game "Space Channel 5." All of these special characters come equipped with unique character gear, statistics and their own set of special tricks. These characters can be unlocked in all versions of Sonic Riders.
