• Tree house design games such as “Design Your Own Tree House” allow the child to create a tree house scene by mixing and matching various objects. This game features backgrounds that reflect any time of the day. In some games the child can even choose the type of tree he wants to place the house in. Some of the building materials these games offer include wooden planks and shingles. Games in this genre allow the child to also customize his design with accessories such as lights, windows, doors and even a guard dog. Some games, such as “Tree House Game” feature a range of different tree houses to choose from, and allow the child to add extra designs to it. Coloring House Designs

• For younger children who enjoy coloring games, there are titles such as Bob The Builder Design A House. Games like these allow a child to design a house by selecting its shape and roof style, then adding a door, windows and chimney. In some games the child can click selections from the provided color palette and the corresponding area he wishes to color to finish the design. Realistic House Designs

• Older kids will enjoy games such as “House Design,” which allows them to create their own realistic house. The “Sims” franchise comprises games that are not solely about house design, but will allow a child to build and decorate his own house from scratch. Games like these display a wide range of doors, windows, roofs and other parts at the bottom of the game screen. The child has to drag these into the main screen to design a house. Some realistic house design games, such as “Mina’s Beach House,” are more about interior design than building the actual house. In games like these a child can move the stairs, change the carpets, add furniture and re-do the garden.
  
  

Dollhouse Designs

• Most dollhouse games only allow kids to customize the inside of the house, adding furniture or other indoor decorating activities. Some, however, such as Doll House Builder, allow the child to design the whole house. Doll house building games allow children to choose appropriate parts for the house. In Doll House Builder the child has to pick the parts from a crane, by stopping the crane at the right spot. For something simpler there's the "Dollhouse Game" (see Resources) where your child has complete freedom to design her own dollhouse interior. A wide selection of parts like windows, paintings and furniture are available and she can drag it to any spot to decorate and re-design the rooms. Dollhouse games allow a lot of creative freedom as they are often fantasy based.
