- 1). Unplug your Wii AC adapter from both the console and the power source.
- 2). Unplug everything from your Wii's USB and controller ports.
- 3). Keep everything unplugged for at least two full minutes.
- 4). While waiting, check the AC adapter for signs of damage. A cracked case or frayed wires means you should replace your adapter
- 5). Check your adapter for the word "Wii" and model number "RVL-002 (USA)." These are signs that your adapter is licensed and legitimate. Unlicensed adapters occasionally cause problems with the system.
- 6). After two minutes, plug your adapter back into the Wii. Plug the other end of the adapter to a wall outlet, not a power strip or surge protector. If your power light comes on and stays on, you've successfully fixed your problem.
- 7). If your problem hasn't been fixed, replace any unlicensed or damaged adapters and game accessories. Make sure your Wii is properly ventilated by standing it vertically and clearing dust from vents.
- 8). Solve remaining problems by calling Nintendo's customer service hotline at (800) 255-3700.
