Humidity Can Destroy Your Household Plants

Humidity, the excess water in the air can be detrimental to the growth of the indoor plants.
Humidity in the house is a rare phenomenon; still you have to keep track of your plants in order to ensure that they are not assailed by humidity.
If you discover rot, mildew or mold on the plants, it is time to take action because humidity has invaded your plant.
Humidity whether low or high can affect the plants equally.
With high humidity the plants will rot and with low humidity the plants will dry up and wither away.
You can detect low humidity when you see the plant's leaves turning brown, flower buds dropping off.
Winter months are especially dangerous for the indoor plants because the humidity is low and to add to it heaters are used inside the house to keep warm.
In order to keep your plants alive and thriving you have to control the humidity inside the house.
If the humidity is low you can install a humidifier in the house that will provide adequate humidity to the plants.
On the other hand if the humidity lever is high you can install a dehumidified.
In this way you will be able to monitor the humidity in the house.
Next thing that you should ensure is that the plants are watered regularly.
Do not keep a tight schedule for watering the plants.
You should check the soil everyday and make sure that the soil is wet.
Add a lot of manure to the soil which will hold water for longer period.
The soil should not be sandy because water drains out quickly through sandy soil.
And do not keep the plants at a location where the breeze is strong, this will also evaporate the plant's water quickly.
In the event that you have a number of small pots of plants; make a large tray and fill it up with pebbles and water.
Then place the pots on the pebbles in such a way that the pots are above the water level.
The evaporating water from the tray will maintain the humidity for the plants.
Thus monitoring humidity will enable you to grow healthier plants.
