- 1). Remove the baseboards from the wall around the room. The laminate tile needs to be installed 5/16 inch from the edge of the walls. This extra space allows for contraction and expansion of the tile.
- 2). Measure the space with a tape measure. Plan your flooring installation carefully. Natureform comes in groups of three tiles or 12. Draw your flooring or dry set it on the floor to determine the most attractive layout that reduces cut tiles.
- 3). Consult your plans to determine where cuts will need to be made. The cut width of the tiles on one edge should be the same size as the cuts on the other side of the floor. Cut any tiles that need to be sized with a hand or circular saw.
- 4). Roll out underlayment in the space where the tile will be installed. Underlayment provides extra padding to the floor. Trim the underlayment to fit the space. Secure the underlayment to the floor with packing tape.
- 5). Set the first row of tile so that the cut edge is against the wall. Set a 5/16 inch spacer between the wall and the tile to allow for expansion. Natureform tiles are installed from left to right.
- 6). Slide the next tile under the edge of the first and lower it to the floor. The tile will click into place. Continue laying tile across the room in this same manner. Lay all whole tiles.
- 7). Lay the cut tile flat against the area where it will be laid. Hold the end closest to the wall with a pull bar. Snap the tongue and groove together. Use the pull bar to lower the tile to the floor.
