How to Repair Bathroom Flooring

    • 1). Place a towel on the damaged tile. Place a warm electric clothes iron on top of the towel. Leave the iron in place until the tile under the towel becomes soft and flexible from the heat.

    • 2). Place a putty knife under the edge of the tile and lift the tile out.

    • 3). Scrape the old floor adhesive from the floor with a putty knife. Continue scraping the floor until it's clean and even.

    • 4). Spread a new layer of adhesive on the floor with a putty knife. Smooth the adhesive with a trowel.

    • 5). Place a towel on the replacement piece of tile. Place the clothes iron on the towel and heat the new piece of tile.

    • 6). Place the new piece of tile on the floor. Press it down firmly in place. Place heavy books on top of the tile for 24 hours.

    • 7). Fill in the joints around the tile with a seam sealer. Following the drying time instructions listed on the label of the seam sealer.
