Crop Mastery in FarmVille allows dedicated farmers to earn coins, experience points and special rewards for harvesting your crops.
Each crop has it's own number of crops that must be harvested before you reach the next level of mastery.
You can check the seeds area of the market place to see your level of mastery.
Each time you harvest a crop you will earn points toward the next level of mastery.
Once you have reached level three mastery of a crop, you will have a chance to grow and harvest a "Premium Crop".
The premium crop will appear larger than other crops, similar to fertilized crops, but will award you one XP when it is harvested.
To keep up on your harvesting you can have FarmVille send you an email when your crops are ready to harvest.
To get this feature go to the email preferences link on Facebook or from FarmVille.
com go to your email preferences page.
Check the box that says "crops ready to harvest" and you are good to go.
There is a limit of three messages per day.
Earning mastery levels for each crop is cumulative.
Once you have reached level one you only need the difference between level one and two to get to the next mastery star.
There are three stars under each seed icon.
Below that is a bar, which if you mouse over will tell you your current harvests how many done/total needed.
You will find seeds that take the longest need the fewest harvesting to reach the next level of mastery.
Crops that take two hours like raspberries need 1500 harvests before reaching level one mastery.
From time to time Zynga does alter the number of harvests needed for crop mastery.
Be sure to check the game announcement for a listing of the new requirements for crop mastery for individual crops.
Each time you master a crop you get a new sign to place on your farm with a picture of the crop you have mastered.
