How to Seal Marble Tile Before Installing

    • 1). Apply a coating of pH-breathable granite sealer to your marble test piece to discover how the stone reacts. Spray it on and wipe it dry.

    • 2). Examine the surface of the test piece. If your marble is polished or too dense, the sealer will not absorb into the stone but instead dry on the surface, producing streaks and haze. If the sealer soaks in without adverse effects, use the product before and after marble installation.

    • 3). Repeat the test in Step 1 using a permanent-bond granite sealer. If no haze or streaks appear, this product may be applied to your marble tile, but only once after installation.

    • 4). Reapply pH-breathable granite sealer every one to three years on tumbled marble tile. Permanent-bond sealers are formulated to last 10 to 15 years.
