• "Tony Hawk Project 8" features several unlockable and secret characters that are mostly based on actual skaters, with a few generic people thrown in. Unlocking most of these characters requires completing portions of the game, but some of them can also be unlocked by passwords that can be entered at any point.
  
  

Unlockable Characters

• Complete the "Pro Challenges" for each character to unlock Travis Barker, Steve Williams, Rodney Mullen, Ryan Sheckler, Bam Margera, Bob Burnquist, Dustin Dolin, Daewon Song, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins, Jason Lee, Mike Valley, Paul Rodriguez, Nyjah Huston and Zombie.
  
  Unlock the School level for the Security Guard; the High School for the Beaver Mascot and Filmer; the Shops for the Photographer; the Car Factory level for the Bum; and Downtown for the Real Estate Agent. You will receive "Pro Challenges" on your phone as you move up through the rankings, and you do that by completing levels. Unlocking the various levels simply requires beating those levels.
  
  

Character Passwords

• It's also possible to unlock characters through passwords. Go to the "Options" menu and open up the "Passwords" option to enter codes. Using different characters has no statistical benefit in the game; they are there for aesthetic reasons and so that you get the chance to play as your favorite skater.

• You can get pro footage of these skaters simply by beating their "Pro Challenge," which also unlocks them as playable characters. Win the "Pro Challenge" from Mike V, Nyjah Huston, Lyn-Z Adams, Daewon Song, Dustin Dollin, Bam Margera, Bob Burnquist, Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Sheckler, Steve Williams and Rodney Mullen. Complete each of Jason Lee's "Pro Challenges" to unlock "Day in the Life" videos of the skaters. The "Pro Bails" video can be unlocked by beating the Tony Hawk "Pro Challenge." "Behind the Scenes" video is unlocked by clearing all "Pro Challenges."
