- 1). Put on gloves. The blades are very sharp and can easily cut your fingers.
- 2). Turn the planer upside down. Behind the blades will be three screws. Unscrew them with the wrench provided with the planer. The screws have a unique slot to which only the Makita planer wrench can connect.
- 3). Move the adjusting plate under the screw to loosen the blades. Slide the blades out.
- 4). Slide the new blades in. Lock the adjusting plate on top of the blades. This will secure the blades tightly into position.
- 5). Screw the screws back in with the wrench.
