- 1). Place the item you wish to hang against the wall and position it level. Mark all of the mounting holes for the item onto the wall with a marker or pencil.
- 2). Measure the diameter of the metal sleeve along the solid portion at either end and select a drill bit that matches that size. Often the packaging that comes with the molly bolt tells you the correct pilot-hole size.
- 3). Drill a hole into the drywall with the correct drill bit size.
- 4). Tap the sleeve into the drywall. One end of the sleeve has a small lip around it. This is the end that protrudes from the wall and the end you tap with the hammer.
- 5). Place the item you wish to hang against the wall and line up the bolt holes with the molly bolts.
- 6). Thread the bolts supplied with the metal sleeves into the sleeves with a screwdriver to secure the item to the wall.
