Carmel-by-the-Sea or simply Carmel is one of the most scenic destinations in Northern California known for its 17-mile drive as much as its oceanside appeal. National Geographic listed the Pacific Coast Highway, a route that takes campers straight to this destination, as one of their "drives of a lifetime." Carmel hotels can be expensive during peak vacation times, making camping an excellent option. For those with recreational vehicles or only a tent, sites in or near Carmel can accommodate any length of stay. - Nestled on the banks of the Russian River, this RV park is pet-friendly and fully equipped for wireless access. Those with tents should look elsewhere; this park is only open to those with recreational vehicles. However, the camp has two large rooms for meetings or recreational use. The park features hot showers and a general store where you can find small groceries or a snack.
