But they rarely know or have the time to learn search engine optimization for their websites.
Even if they do keyword research, it is often being done incorrectly.
It's a simple equation: Wrong Keywords = No Traffic = No Leads Let's start simple.
Keywords are the search words or phrases that you want your website to rank well for when your potential customers search the internet.
You enter the keyword phrase into the search bar and results are returned by the search engine.
There are two types of search engine results.
Organic results and paid results.
Paid search results typically occupy the first couple of results at the top of the page as well as down the right hand side of the page.
These paid ads are generated through accounts Google AdWords.
Organic search results are the results that you will see numbered 1-10 under the first couple of paid listings on the search results page.
These rankings are calculated by a complex algorithm by the search engine.
This algorithm is constantly changing as the system tries to return the most accurate and relevant search results for the term selected.
Organic rankings are the result of proper keyword research and then implementation of keywords on your site.
Implementation of the keywords is too complex to delve into here.

How to Determine the Best Keywords for Buyers and Sellers for Real Estate Investors Choose 5-10 phrases that you think a potential seller or buyer would enter into a search engine.
These phrases are often call long tail searches.
They will not have as many searches by volume as a single keyword may have, but the quality of the leads they generate will be considerably better.
Here's an example: Sell House Fast We Buy Houses You can further refine the results by including the area you are investing in.
For example: Sell House Fast Jacksonville Again, this will return a lower search volume, but it will give you an idea of how competitive a keyword phrase is for your area.
Take each one of these phrases and enter them into a keyword tool you can find online.
A tool that I prefer to use is a tool called KeywordSpy.

It is a tool that has functionality very similar to the old Google Keyword Tool.
Enter one of your phrases in the box at the top of the page and then click the keyword selection right under the box.
The results returned will include search volume by month, the top 10 related searches, top pay per click ads and top organic search competitors for that keyword.
The key results are the search volume by month and the top 10 related searches.
Paid subscribers to KeywordSpy can get the top 100 related searches as well as other benefits.
But for most investors, the top 10 by search volume will be all you need.
Enter the results information from the first term into an excel spreadsheet.
Continue entering terms that you think motivated sellers or buyers are searching for and entering the information into your spreadsheet.
You may be surprised by which terms rank the best.
Quick Tip: Make sure that you are searching for exact matches when search keyword phrases.
The way to do this is to enter your search phrase in "".
So it would look like this: "sell house fast".
If you do not do this, then the system will return search results that include any of the words in the keyword phrase rather than the exact match for the phrase.
Now you know which search terms will generate the best search engine rankings for your site.
Its nothing too complex.
It just takes a little bit of time and effort.
