King Koil, a well respected mattress company, changed its name to Comfort Solutions, a move that is intended to increase consumer awareness, and provide a better scope and depth for its line of mattresses. King Koil Comfort Solutions now refers to any mattresses of the original King Koil line as well as others. A spokesperson for the company remarked that there are 13 brands involved under the name, and more than 100 different products.

Comfort Solutions is really nothing more than a modernized name for a company that has been around for over a century. King Koil, as its name implies, is rooted in hand-crafted innersprings and pocket coils, where many of today's finest mattresses from the company employ memory foam or other more modern substances.

The change in name won't have any effect on the company's mattress ratings, aside from the occasional accidental mentioning of Comfort Solutions as though it were a product line of King Koil rather than the new name of the company itself. The legacy of King Koil lives on, but the original name is being allowed to fade into the past in much the same way innersprings seem destined to do in the not too distant future.
