How to Remove Antivirus From a New Folder

    SDFix

    • 1). Download SDFix (see Resources section of this article) and save it to your desktop. Double-click "SDFIX.exe" and it will extract files to C:\SDFIX and save to your desktop.

    • 2). Click on "Start," the arrow next to "Shutdown," then select "Restart." Tap the F8 key during start-up to boot into Safe Mode.

    • 3). Double-click on the "SDFix.zip" folder on your desktop and choose "Extract all." Open the extracted folder "C:\SDFix" and double-click "RunThis.bat." Type "Y" to accept. SDFix will then remove the New Folder virus. When it is finished, you will get a message "press any key to reboot." Hit a key and your computer will reboot. Your computer will take longer to start up because SDFix is removing files.

    • 4). Click "Finish" and your desktop will continue loading. You will be prompted to click any key to end the script. Press a key and the dialog box will close.

    Combo Fix

    • 1). Download ComboFix (see Resources section of this article) and save it to your desktop. Follow the onscreen instructions to install it to your computer.

    • 2). Close all open Windows. Disable Antivirus, Firewall and Antispyware programs running on your computer. To disable firewall look for the firewall icon in the task bar, right click on it and select "Close," "Exit" or "Disable." Do the same for your antivirus and antispyware applications.

    • 3). Double-click on the "ComboFix" icon on your desktop. While the scan is running, do not do anything else on your computer. This scan will take a while to finish. Click "Continue" if you get a security warning from Windows. Click "Run" and the ComboFix window will open. You will see "Please wait. ComboFix is preparing to run" on the screen.

    • 4). Click "OK" on the next screen and click "Yes" to agree to the disclaimer. Combofix will create a System Restore point. This means if you have any problems with this program you can restore your computer back to a time before you ran it. After it creates a Restore Point, it will back up the Windows Registry. ComboFix will try to find the Windows Recovery Console on your computer. If it is not installed, a dialog box will open with the message, "This machine does not have the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console installed. Click "Yes" to install it. When it is finished, you will get a "Congratulations..." dialog box. Click "Yes" to continue scanning for malware. If you have the Windows Recovery Console already installed on your computer, ComboFix will skip this step automatically. ComboFix will now disconnect your Internet connection. When it is finished, it will automatically restore it for you. Combo fix will start scanning. This takes a while to finish so be patient.

    • 5). Internet connection will be enabled and the ComboFix window will close when it finishes. A log will open on your computer showing you the files deleted.

    Newfolder Fix Wizard

    • 1). Download Newfolder Fix Wizard (see Resources section of this article) and save it to your desktop. Follow the onscreen instructions to install it to your computer.

    • 2). Double-click on the Newfolder Fix Wizard icon on your desktop and click "Next." The scan will start automatically. Be patient, as this scan takes a while to finish.

    • 3). Click "Next" and Newfolder Fix Wizard will display a log of files removed. Click "Finished" when you are done looking at the log and the dialog window will close.
