- Perdue Hill is on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage as one of the earliest settled towns in Monroe County. Located in the central time zone and sitting 384 feet above sea level, the town experiences moderate weather all year long.
- William Barret Travis, commander of the Alamo, lived in Perdue Hill before going off to fight. Today his home is the only tourist attraction in the community.
- Perdue Hill is small and does not have accommodations within town limits. Nearby Monroeville, however, offers hotels, golf, nightlife, shopping and restaurants.
