The Legacy of Kids Poems

Poems are a beautiful way to express oneself.
Lovers are known to write poems for centuries to elucidate their in-depth feelings.
Poets have listed down various styles of writing poetry, a few styles like include elegy, tragedy, sonnets, and open verse.
Shakespeare is immortal with his poems and style of penning words to paper more names to reckon include John Milton, Wordsworth, John Keats and so on which we still learn in school and college till date.
Reason being their words have so much of meaning and definition that it implies to generations after generations.
Have you ever wondered how poems came into being? Well poems were a way to document history, war stories, heroic deeds and tragic lives.
Also they were easier to remember and pass on to generations.
The preliterate society would learn such poems from their ancestors, add to them their own new set and pass it down generations.
The oldest epic ever documented is the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Iliad and the Odyssey and the epics from India - Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Epic is a poetry style of writing that is lengthy and narrative telling the reader in detail the story that set sail.
Hence Ramayana documents the life of Lord Ram and his victories and losses while Mahabharata is about the great war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas.
These epics though lengthy have come down generations and are still living grand.
Today they have been translated into a number of languages making it viable for people across the world to get and read it.
Since it is written in a poetic format some of the verses can be easily learnt by rote and recited.
Today besides these too grand books there are a number of poems written in different languages.
While the early poems were inspired by these two books, later poems were written on different topics like romance, life, work, women, children and so on.
Today one can find a heap of resourceful poems with Indian origin filled with fun so we can pass it on to posterity.
