Waiting to Be Heard: A Memoir by Amanda Knox

First of all, I am not writing this review to judge whether Amanda Knox is innocent or guilty.
This is a review of her book Waiting to be Heard.
This book is incredibly well written.
I was surprised by the elaborate amount of details she provided throughout the book.
Waiting to Be Heard is not only about Amanda Knox's case but also gives the readers insight about her time as a student in Italy and the friends she met while in the country.
She includes information about her trial, her four years in prison, the many people with whom she had to share a cell and the support of her family.
It was fascinating to see Amanda take the evidence against her and tear it apart piece-by-piece to show why she is not guilty.
She also shows the reader how she believes the prosecution's case was so weak because it was based on circumstantial evidence.
One would think with all these details this book would get a little boring.
That was not the case.
Waiting to Be Heard kept my attention throughout the entire book.
I listened to the audiobook and that made it even more enjoyable to hear Amanda's account of what happened in her own voice.
After you read this book, you will probably find some things about Amanda Knox that you do not like.
On the other hand, you have to admire her for the stamina and determination she displayed during this ordeal.
Waiting to Be Heard is an engrossing story and is written in a very organized way.
Amanda wants to be a writer and if this book is any indication of her writing ability, she could have great future ahead of her.
The book is impressive.
As I mentioned, this review is not about whether Amanda Knox is guilty or innocent.
However, Waiting to Be Heard will make you ponder whether she is the victim of a botched Italian legal system or if she is the satanic criminal portrayed by the prosecution.
Recently, this case has again appeared on the news.
Whether or not Amanda Knox will have to return to Italy remainds to be seen.
For those who enjoy true crime stories, Waiting to Be Heard is a must read.
It will give the reader a chance to try and figure out if Amanda is guilty or innocent.
There are plenty of details provided so all the reader would have to do is take the evidence provided by the court and tear it apart just like Amanda did.
