- 1). Measure and mark a 6-inch-by-10-inch piece of black card stock using a ruler and pencil. Cut the rectangle out with a paper trimmer.
- 2). Place a 6-inch plate atop the black card stock with the curved edge resting on one of the ends of the strip. Trace the rounded shape onto the end of the strip with a pencil, and then cut along the line with scissors. Repeat the process on the other side. The card stock should now be 6 inches tall with rounded ends.
- 3). Position the card stock horizontally on your work table and use a ruler and pencil to draw a light line 2.5 inches in from each side. Fold the sides of the card stock toward the center along each guideline; the rounded ends should overlap 1/2 inch.
- 4). Design a "handkerchief" to sit in the "pocket" of the tuxedo card by cutting a 1-inch-square piece of white card stock with scissors. Cut the square in half to create a triangle. Use adhesive dots to affix the triangle about 2 inches down from the top on the right flap with the point going up.
- 5). Secure the sides of the tuxedo shut by folding the left flap down and placing three adhesive dots where the right flap will rest on top of it. Once the tuxedo is closed, affix two self-adhesive rhinestones down the center to resemble the suit's buttons.
- 6). Print the party details on a 4-inch-wide-by-6-inch-high piece of white card stock. Leave the top inch of the card blank. Include information such as the day and date, starting and ending times, location and brief directions, and RSVP specifics like your phone number and the deadline for the guests' responses.
- 7). Create the "bowtie" for the tuxedo by making a pencil mark 2inches across the top of the 4-inch-by-6-inch card stock with the party details. Use a 1/8-inch hand-held hole punch to make two holes 1/2 inch down from the top of the card stock. Position each hole 1/2 inch out from the pencil mark.
- 8). Trim a 3-inch-long piece of ribbon with scissors. Pull each end of the ribbon up through one of the holes in the white card stock, tie the ends into a knot and snip off the excess. Slip the card into the folded tuxedo card base so the bowtie sits at the top.
