A Right Royal Wedding Gift Dilemma?

So it's official, 2011 will see a Royal wedding. Time will tell whether there will be a repeat of the iconic scenes that have accompanied previous Royal weddings when Prince William ties the knot next year, but whether the country grinds to a halt or not, it promises to be a special occasion.

As for the wedding guests, their problems are just beginning. What could you possibly get for the second in line to the throne and his future Queen?!

Although most of us won't ever have to face the dilemma of what to get a future King and his bride for a wedding gift, some of us will have to attend rather imposing weddings. Whether it's for your boss or a wealthy relative, most of us will have to attend weddings that promise to be rather lavish occasions.

You know from the second the invitation what the big day will have in store. The perfect wedding is usually preceded by the perfect invitation, and from the moment that pops through the letter box you know it will be a "best suit only" day. But when you are attending a posh wedding that promises to be a grand and lavish affair, what should you do about wedding gifts?

We recently conducted a survey which revealed the motives behind the wedding gift purchases of guests, and one of the questions we asked was whether the size of the wedding influences the gifts that guests bought for the couple. According to our results a massive 92% of people were not influenced by the size of the wedding when choosing their gifts.

Such as high number just goes to show that whether you are attending a Royal wedding or an intimate affair at the local pub the same rules to gift giving always apply. If you are choosing to buy a gift that is not on the registry, always go personal. Get something that you know the couple will either use or something that will remind them of the big day. You don't have to spend a fortune, just something that will give them fond memories of what is a fantastic occasion for them both.

No matter what the size of the wedding, get a wedding gift that will mean something to the couple and remind them of their day. The size of the wedding should not influence your choice of wedding gifts so bear this in mind even if a white envelope with a royal crest drops through your letter box in the next few months.
