Atlantic Coast Tall Ship Cruises

    Maine Windjammer Cruises

    • Established in 1936, Maine Windjammer Cruises offers tall ship cruises based out of Camden, Maine. Available cruises last from three to six days. You can also take a weekend cruise. Some of Maine Windjammer Cruises' fleet consists of tall ships that are over 100 years old. Because tall ships rely on wind and weather for sailing power, the routes are never exactly the same. Regardless of the length of the cruise or the route, each evening meal features a New England lobster bake cooked over a driftwood fire.

    Arabella

    • The Arabella is a 160-foot tri-masted tall ship that sails along the New England coast. The ship's size allows it to sail into coves and harbors that larger cruise ships can't. This lets guests see unspoiled areas of the East Coast. The cruises generally last six days, though three-day cruises are available around Independence Day and Labor Day. Itineraries include Chesapeake Bay, Maine and an island-hopping cruise through New England.

    Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships

    • The tall ship Schooner Liberty Clipper sails out of Boston. The ship, a historic replica of an 18th century clipper, offers cruises of three to six days. Its main ports of call are Boston, New York and Chesapeake Bay. The cruises take place in spring and fall, which are ideal times to view the New England coast. From June through September, rather than extended cruises, the Schooner Liberty Clipper has single-day cruises that take guests around Boston Harbor. Because the ship has room for only 28 passengers, the cruise is relaxing and offers the seclusion that a vacation on a cruise ship doesn't.
