- 1). Restart the BlackBerry Curve 8300 phone. If the phone has frozen and no action can be taken through the menu system, you should restart the device. Press and hold the red "End Call" button on the phone for five seconds. The phone will automatically restart.
- 2). Soft reset the BlackBerry Curve 8300 device. Many problems with the 8300 phone can be fixed by performing a soft reset on the phone. Remove the battery from the 8300 phone. Wait several minutes and then re-insert the battery into the phone.
- 3). Adjust the phone number recognized by your SIM card. If your phone number appears as "Unknown" on your on the BlackBerry display, you will have to adjust your SIM card settings. Press the dotted BlackBerry menu button. Use the directional arrows to select the "Advanced Options" button. Select the "Edit SIM Phone Number" button. Type your phone number into the open field.
- 4). Check if your BlackBerry Curve has connected to a wireless network. Open the "Mobile Network" icon in the main menu. The display will notify you if a connection has been made to wireless network. Use the up/down arrows on the BlackBerry to select the "Connect" button if no connection has been found.
- 5). Unlock all application permissions. Many application issues can be solved by making sure all program permissions have been opened. Press the dotted "Menu" button on the left of circular button. Select the "Options" tab in the new menu and then select "Advanced Options." Use the Up/Down directional keys to highlight and select the "Applications" tab. Press the dotted "Menu" key again. Select "Edit Default Permissions." Select the "Allow" option next to each application tab.
