- 1). Check the connection between the the Magnavox LCD television and either the cable receiver or DVD player. Make sure the cables are attached tightly. For RCA cable connections, make sure the proper colored cable is inserted into the proper colored port. If the cord is not properly inserted, you can hear either static in the audio or the image will appear wavy (if the image is visible at all).
- 2). Press the "Zoom" button on the television remote. Mose LCD televisions are much wider than standard televisions, so occasionally the image can appear either stretched or squished. Pressing the "Zoom" button will adjust the type of display until the picture appears normal.
- 3). Purchase the HD package from your cable provider if your Magnavox LCD television is HD and you want to receive your channels in HD. Even though your television is high definition, the picture will still be shown in standard format until you upgrade the cable package (usually runs around an extra $10 a month). You will also need to purchase and use HDMI cables to properly view the content in HD.
- 4). Press the "Menu" button on the Magnavox LCD television's remote. Navigate through the options until you reach the "Video" options. Adjust the "Brightness" settings. A common problem is where the picture appears too bright or too dark. Adjust this "Brightness" level until the image looks adequate.
- 5). Press the "Menu" button again on the remote and select the "Channel Scan" option. This will search for all available channels your television receives. This will correct the issue of changing the channel to a station you don't receive (all blue screen).
