- 1). Purchase a TV antenna (indoor or outdoor, with or without amplification) that will provide the best reception for your particular viewing location and install it in an optimal spot, near enough to the TV to be able to connect it with the length of coaxial cable you have.
- 2). Connect the coaxial cable to the "VHF/UHF" coaxial input on the rear of the Sony Plasma TV. Models such as the KDE-XS955 series have coaxial inputs for both VHF/UHF and cable; each is labeled for clarity. Turn the cable connector clockwise onto the input until it is secure.
- 3). Press "Power" to turn the TV on. If this is the first time using the TV, the "Initial Setup" menu will appear on screen. Use the arrow keys to select an on-screen language and press "+" to accept the setting. This will then bring up the message "Start auto program now?" Select "Yes" and press "+"; the Auto Program feature will scan for a list of receivable channels.
- 4). Press "ANT" on the remote control to select the antenna input for viewing. Press "CH+" or "CH-" or enter a number on the keypad to view channels. Adjust and/or reposition the antenna if necessary to improve reception, and press "Menu" and select "Auto Program" to rescan for available channels.
