- 1). Remove the doll's clothing if it's wearing any and wash it gently, using cold water, a washcloth and soap -- preferably something gentle. Take extra care when cleaning the face, and avoid scrubbing at the face paint if the doll has any. Use a toothbrush to clean smaller areas like the fingers, toes and behind the ears. Wash the doll's hair as well, taking care not to rip any off the head.
- 2). Wash the doll's clothing and accessories. Rinse for several minutes in a sink with gentle soap and cold water, and hang up the garments afterward and allow them to air-dry.
- 3). Use a small brush or comb to gently fix the doll's hair when it has dried. It is preferable to use the brush or comb that originally came with the doll.
- 4). Dress the doll in its original attire. Afterward, put it back into the original box in which it was purchased, along with any accessories or additional clothing that came with it. This is the best way to protect your doll.
