Best Violin Etudes For Beginners

The best violin etudes for beginners are ones that are challenging at the appropriate level while still feeling natural and simple enough to be mastered within a short period of time.
This means you need to choose the right etudes that are melodic and interesting while still being manageable by a beginner and stressing proper technique with scales, arpeggios and rhythms.
That said, here are a couple of the best violin etudes for beginners you can learn without stressing your fingers or your mind.
The first one and one of the best violin etudes for beginners is the Kreutzer Etude Number 10 from 42 Studies.
In this simple and memorable etude, Kreutzer gives the beginning violinist a look at simple first and third position techniques and one octave scales and arpeggios that are perfect for the beginner.
In addition, this etude stresses a shift from major to minor without involving a complex fingering or elaborate sound or techniques that are foreign to the beginning violinist.
Be sure to pick this one up and have a look! Another simple and classic violin etude for beginners would be Bach's Etude Number 3.
This is a very melodic and easy to listen to and enjoy violin etude that stresses simple scale work with interesting rhythmic balance that any beginner can learn and master.
We also start introducing accidentals and key changes in this etude that while they may be a bit foreign to new players are still an essential skill to anyone learning the violin, making it a great violin etude for beginners.
My last violin etude for beginners would be Wohlfahrt's Etude Number 4.
This piece is another simple and easy to master violin etude that any beginner can learn! It stresses a scale in the key of D Major and features simple scale movements with clean rhythms as well as long, smooth legato notes at the end of many of the scales to practice smooth, open bow strokes.
It's a simple but functional piece any beginning violinist can pick up and learn a lot of technique from! Before you worry about etudes and techniques, I should warn that any violinist needs a good teacher or will be held back by things you are not even aware of in your playing ability.
Fortunately I have always had great teachers which has helped me continue forward even despite having certain challenges and road blocks on the way to playing violin more skillfully.
