How to Sing Better With Your Unique Voice

Singing comes naturally to many, some need to discover their potential for singing and yet some others need to work hard to develop their singing voice.
And there are some people who are not even aware that given a chance they might be able to sing well.
So, all these people need different kinds of encouragement and motivation to sing and to learn how to sing well.
Here are some tips for those who have discovered their voices and would like to know more about finding your voice and to improve on it.
Identify Your Voice Type: The basic classification of your voice can be identified by a music trainer or coach.
All male voices are classified in different categories such as tenor, bass, baritone or countertenor.
And all female voices are classified into different categories such as soprano, mezzo soprano and contralto.
This classification is mainly based on the vocal range or pitch level comfort zone of the singer.
For example a high pitched voice of a male singer is called tenor and low pitched voice is called bass and this means they are comfortable in high register and low register respectively.
In females soprano is high pitched and contralto is low pitched and so on.
Of course there are other factors that influence the type of your voice such as voice texture, timbre, and weight of your voice, like whether it is a light voice or a heavy voice.
So, with so many permutation and combination available, it is only natural that you need an expert in finding your voice.
Discover Your Tone: The next step is the second round of voice identification and this is based on tonal quality.
For example some people have a sharp voice, some have husky voice and some have a deep voice and so on.
This identification helps you to decide what kind of songs suits your voice.
This will also help you to develop your voice quality accordingly.
Sing Naturally: The final tip to all wannabe singers is to sing in a natural voice.
This means that you should make full use of your natural voice with an open throated effort and not to strain your voice in uncomfortable pitches.
Similarly, do not pull back your voice or exert a controlling pressure.
You need to give full freedom to your voice, so that it opens up and your sound comes out clear and fine.
There is a very subtle meaning to this instruction, but as you practice, you will understand what I mean.
The only way to succeed in finding your voice is to practice regularly.
This may sound tedious, but in the long run you will bless yourself for the effort you put in.
Practice is the only way to improve your singing, strengthening your vocal chords, increasing your vocal range and improving the different techniques in singing.
A personal trainer is most helpful at such times to guide you along the right direction.
