How to Get Jell-O Dye Out of Your Hair

    • 1). Shampoo your hair with deep cleansing shampoo and let it stay in your hair for at least five minutes before rinsing. This will be especially useful during the first 24 hours after you have dyed your hair, though it is also necessary if you have exceeded that mark. Conditioner should be applied on your hair after shampooing to ensure that your hair does not become too dry.

    • 2). Apply lemon juice or vinegar to your hair after exceeding the 24 hour mark. Allow the lemon juice or vinegar to stay in your hair for at least 10 minutes, then shampoo it out using the deep cleansing shampoo. Condition your hair after rinsing.

    • 3). Use a hot oil treatment on your hair. Hot oil treatments can be purchased at your local drugstore. Alternatively, you can also heat virgin olive oil and apply it to your hair for 30 minutes before rinsing out.
