General Hospital recap for September 17, 2011:
Lucky speaks with Dante on the phone. Lucky says that he needs to find Elizabeth, that he can't let her down. Meanwhile, Maxie and Elizabeth are being held captive in what looks like the back of the bakery. They are trying to get free, although Maxie is confident that Spinelli will come for them. Elizabeth is curious - where does Matt fit in, since you refer to Spinelli as "my Jackal?"
Elizabeth goes on to tell Maxie that Matt is feeling pretty left out lately. Angry, Maxie accuses Elizabeth of being jealous because she's in a happy relationship. "You don't know anything about pain," Elizabeth tells her. Maxie reminds her, "I'm here because my cousin died. I had survivor guilt for years. Don't tell me I don't know about pain. Stay away from Matt. You're trying to get back at me because of Lucky."
Speaking of Spinelli, he's back, but let's just say he has lapses. He sits in front of the computer desperately trying to remember how to work the darn thing. Sam enters, and Spinelli fakes his expertise. He asks about Kristina and learns from her that the doctors are running tests to see what's going on with her.
Right now, though, Sam herself is changing her clothes and going to Crimson to get a wedding dress. And by the way, Spinelli, she asks, how are you doing with the security camera footage? Spinelli, who is lucky he remembers how to turn on the computer, claims to have accessed them, and now he's following up.
Gulp. He promises that he will find Maximists and The Maternal One. He runs out, Sam yelling to him that he forgot his computer. Kate answers the phone. It's James from the MetroCourt, informing her that there is no one to take delivery of dresses for today's fitting. Kate asks, what fitting? Sonny receives a call at the same time about the trashed warehouse, and he says "I'll take it from here."
Kate leaves Maxie an irate message. Olivia walks in and asks Kate if she's had a chance to talk with Sonny. Kate points out that she's too busy and has no assistant. Olivia offers to answer the phone for her while she talks to Sonny, but Kate says she doesn't want Olivia's accent over the Crimson telephone.
Olivia points out that Kate is still nobody but Connie Falconeri of Brooklyn, and she will never get away from that. Right now, she's the one who can get through to Sonny. "Why are you pushing me so hard?" Kate asks. The two argue, and Kate challenges her cousin to an arm wrestle. "If you want Connie, you've got Connie," she says. "Try being yourself," Olivia advises. Kate shrugs. "You were lucky, and I wasn't. You got a child. I got a bloody wedding dress."
Olivia isn't done telling people off. When she sees Dante, she gives him hell for letting Lulu go and orders him to fight for her.
Lulu enters the Haunted Star and the first thing she sees is Ethan on the floor. She runs over to him, and he's a little dazed. It seems that a con went south and he was roughed up as a result. Lulu advises him that he is throwing his life away. Ethan explains that he understands Luke's restlessness and the adrenaline rush; and, since the apple didn't fall too far from the tree in this place, that's why he continues with this edgy lifestyle.
Lulu expresses her surprise that Ethan he stuck around Port Charles. Well, he says he stayed because he wanted to see if he was really like his father, and he is. He's a Spencer. Lulu sighs. Luke did like the rush, but then she came along and he had no choice except to stick around. Luke is hiding out and listening to the entire conversation. Ethan discusses Lulu's plans with her, and says if she wants to sell, he'll buy the place or at least manage it. Lulu receives a call from Kate. Maxie has disappeared, and she needs to help out. When Ethan walks Lulu to the exit, Luke emerges and starts looking around. He reads the letter that Skye left for Ethan.
In the alley behind the bakery, Spinelli sees Lucky looking in vain for clues. Spinelli is positive that there are clues. For instance, this frosting on the dumpster. Lucky leaves to try to get inside, unconvinced, but when Spinelli tastes the frosting, it's coconut delight, a sign that Maximista has left him a clue!
Inside the bakery, Lucky opens a bag of flour and tastes it. From the look on his face, it would make some happy cupcakes. He phones PCPD and tells them that he has something that could blow the case wide open. Outside, Spinelli finds "a sign from the heavens" and takes off.
Dante enters Sonny's office and informs his father that he does not like being summoned. "I'm reporting a crime," Sonny says. "Johnny torched my warehouse. Things will get worse if I don't do anything, and the kids could be hurt." Dante is angry. "You're asking me to compromise my badge." If Sonny keeps going after Johnny, Dante points out, Michael will get involved.
At Crimson, Kate complains to Lulu that Crimson is doing a disservice by putting a bride on the cover. She doesn't believe in happily ever after. Sam arrives and says she's looking for a wedding dress. Kate is shocked. When Sam is finished with the fitting, she announces that she loves the dress. Lulu asks what the secret of a happy relationship is, and Sam tells her that you have to get out of your own way. She leaves, and Lulu picks a wedding dress off the rack and holds it against herself just as Dante enters.
Back to the hostages: Maxie does a lousy job of pretending to be sick when the guard enters. As lousy as it is, Elizabeth tells the guard that she might have appendicitis. And please, can she please check her out? The guard frees Elizabeth from her bonds and allows it. "Don't let her touch me!" Maxie screams. "She tried to kill her last rival in the ER." Elizabeth reports back to the guard that Maxie has bruising and has internal bleeding. When the guard approaches Maxie, she gets him in the eyes, jumps. She runs out when Darryl enters, but Darryl stops Elizabeth. Spinelli hears Maxie screaming.
Sonny is leaving his office when Kate walks into the restaurant. "All that's missing is a fortune teller," she says, reminding him of a past meeting. Sonny replies, "Maybe it's time that we make our own future." Kate answers, "Not until we get out of the past." .
