- 1). Lay the ribbon on a stable, flat surface, such as a workbench. Make sure you have a clear workspace and don some protective eye wear before going any further.
- 2). Unfurl the copper ribbon and use a rolling pin to straighten it out. You may want to do this several times. Next, strike the ribbon with a hammer, using quick, precise hits. Flip the ribbon over and hammer the other side as well.
- 3). Start at the end of the ribbon, and make your way along the entire length of the ribbon. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the ribbon has reached the desired flatness.
