Dancing, a Weighty Decision

Every year on December 31, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM you can find Ronald Sweet and his wife Nancy McDonald at Panera Bread doing their goals for the following year.
On December 31, 2004 they were perplexed: "what should they do to exercise?"  In past years, they tried biking, walking, yoga, the gym...
you name it and never had success.
After much thought, Ron said: "Let's do something fun this year, how about ballroom dancing?"  This was somewhat out of left field since they didn't dance, didn't even watch the dance TV shows, however Nancy said G R E A T!!  Ron go sign us up.
Little did he know that hitting the dance floor would change his life and trigger a passion that accounts for an 85 pound weight loss, for Ron, and healthier body for both of them.
Now Ron and his wife Nancy spend as much time as possible working out on the ballroom floor.
"It's our primary fitness, this is just wonderful.
"  Ron Sweet said.
"I think because I enjoyed the dancing so much, it inspired me to keep losing weight and pounds seem to just roll off.
" According to John P.
Lenhart, M.
D.
The calories burned during dancing are quite significant, if you weighed 150 pounds, in a slow dance, such as waltz or fox trot, you would burn about 220 calories an hour and a fast dace could a amount to over 400 calories an hour.
And he goes on to say: "Dancing is a great way to exercise, stay mentally sharp, dapper, and have lots of fun.
" So if you are thinking about better health and a leaner frame - try dancing!
