- 1). Remove the broken rail from the wooden monkey bars. A lot will depend on where the rail is broken, but one way that should work in most cases is to saw the rail at either end where it goes into the side rail. Drill into the part that is still inside the side rail to loosen it, and then use a hammer to knock the rest out. Put a piece of the rail that you cut off into the hole and hammer until all remnants of the old rail have been removed.
- 2). Apply the wood glue into the holes that you have just cleared out in the side rails.
- 3). Insert the replacement pole into one of the holes in the side rail and push all of the way through and out of the other side. Make sure that when you cut or buy the replacement pole, it is long enough to bridge the gap and extend beyond the side rails.
- 4). Saw off the excess pole that is protruding on either side of the wooden monkey bars. Allow the glue time to dry before you allow anyone to use the monkey bars.
