- 1). Open the battery compartment lid on the back of the motion-sensor alarm module. Insert fresh batteries for backup use in the battery compartment. Close the lid.
- 2). Place the wireless speaker-receiver on a night table next to your bed. Plug the receiver's power cord into a wall outlet for power. Press the "On" button or rotate the power knob to turn the receiver on.
- 3). Place the motion-sensor alarm module on the floor, with the front facing the entryway that is to be monitored. If the entryway is a window, place the module on a chair or table so that it is more level with the window. Plug the module's power cord into a wall outlet for power; if the outlet is too far away, connect the power cord to an AC extension cord that is then plugged into the wall outlet. Position the module so that it is about five feet from the enryway.
- 4). Rotate the volume knob on the control panel on the back or top of the module fully clockwise. Rotate the "sensitivity" or "gain" knob, also on the control panel, to the halfway mark.
- 5). Press the "On" button or rotate the power knob to turn the motion sensor alarm on. Toss a couch pillow against the entryway from behind the motion sensor alarm module. Readjust the "sensitivity" or "gain" knob clockwise if the alarm on the speaker-receiver unit does not sound.
- 6). Turn the motion-sensor alarm module off. Turn the module back on to have your DIY wireless security alarm system monitor the entryway for you.
