Turn Old Dish Towels Into a Tea Cozy

    • 1). Measure the teapot from top to bottom and from the spout to the handle.

    • 2). Fold the dish towel in half. Using the measurements of the teapot, draw a half-moon shape on one side of the folded towel.

    • 3). Cut along the half circle on the towel. Stitch the two sides together along the top curve.

    • 4). Turn the tea cozy inside out to hide the stitches on the inside and slide over the top of your teapot.

    • 5). Some like a tea cozy with padding to assist in holding heat. If the dish towel is thin and a lining is desired, follow the steps above to create a lining to stitch to the inside of the tea cozy.
