  Barberton is a city in Summit County, Ohio. According to the 2000 census, it had a population of 27,899. Ohio Columbus Barber settled and founded the city in 1891, and strived to create a booming industrial town, which he did. In the center of town is Lake Anna, named after his daughter. This lake, and other lakes in the area support water sports, fishing and hiking around the perimeter. Barberton is also famous for its fried chicken restaurants. To some, Barberton is considered the "Chicken Capital of the World." Every year, a crazy festival named Chickenfest is put on to the enjoyment of all that come. Whatever the reason for staying, Barberton has a place for you to stay to enjoy it all.
  
  

Shamrock Motel

• The shamrock is located in the northern section of Barberton. It lies next door to both Decker Park and Barberton Stadium. There are only a dozen rooms, but the motel prides itself on them being clean and well maintained. Each room comes with a telephone that you can make free local calls on, a television with free cable and an alarm clock. There is fresh coffee at the front desk, and if you so desire, you can visit the club/bar connected to the premises. The Shamrock Nite Club offers a full service bar, live bands on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as live wrestling on Tuesday nights. There are two pool tables, a large dance floor and a covered patio.

Berlin's Motel

• Berlin's Motel is another small lodging located within Barberton. The Berlin is found near the center of Barberton. Nestled between Lake Anna and Columbia Lake, as well as only a couple blocks from Columbia Woods Park--a large park and swimming area--it is in a convenient location for a family stay. The rooms are cozy, and each has double beds in them, as well as cable televisions, telephones and coffee makers. The hotel offers wireless Internet access to all of its guests. While they don't have a continental breakfast, they do have a small restaurant in the front of the hotel called Twigs, which is open from breakfast to dinner. The hotel also sports a large outdoor swimming pool--a seasonal one, of course.

Lakeside Motel

• The Lakeside Motel is technically in the town of Akron, but is much closer to Barberton than it is Akron's downtown district. The motel is only 1 mile from the outskirts of Barberton, and offers typical motel fare. Each room opens out into the parking lot and has its own personal parking space. Parking is never a problem, as there is always ample room. Each room comes equipped with an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, television with cable, a telephone, and alarm clock. You can rent roll-away beds and cribs from the front desk, as well as a VCR player to play VHS movies in.
