- 1). Clean outside the house. Cut down any high grass or weeds that the lizards hide in. Clean any trash and debris from the yard. Get rid of any standing water. Keep the yard clean, so lizards can't hide from predators.
- 2). Clean inside the house. Roaches and fleas thrive in homes that are not clean. Do not leave trash, food waste or old drink cans lying around. Roaches will eat the food and breed.
- 3). Vacuum daily, and empty the container immediately. Take the contents of the container out of the house. It will vacuum up fleas and their eggs. Remove this, and you break the flea's life cycle.
- 4). Sprinkle Borax under the refrigerator, under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom cabinets. Insects eat the Borax, and it kills them. The insects will bring it back to the nest if they walk through it, and it will kill the nest.
- 5). Sprinkle Borax on rugs, floors and furniture. Keep pets and children out of the room while you do this step. Let the Borax sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Vacuum the room to remove all of the Borax. Any fleas in the area will eat the Borax and die. Repeat this step weekly.
- 6). Throw Borax under the house, and leave it there. Any insects under the house will die after they eat it.
- 7). Mix 3 spoons of Borax with 1/2 cup jelly or corn syrup. Scoop a hole out of the top of any ant beds near the house. Put 2 or 3 spoonfuls of the mixture on top of the ant mound. Put some dirt over the top. The ants will bring it into the mound, and it will kill all the ants.
- 8). Watch lizards disappear over the next 3 or 4 weeks as their food supply dies.
