- 1). Place your plywood in your work area and use your ruler and pencil to measure out two 3 by 4 feet pieces of plywood. Also measure two pieces that measure 2 by 3 feet and two that measure 2 by 4 feet. Cut these out using your jigsaw and place them to the side.
- 2). Measure and cut out six pieces of heavy aluminum that match the measurements of your plywood pieces. Cut these out using your jigsaw and attach them to the properly sized pieces of plywood using your drill to screw them together with 1/2-inch screws.
- 3). Nail two metal snaps on each narrow side of one of your 2 by 4 boards. Attach the other half of the snaps to the one of the narrow ends on each of your 2 by 3 pieces of wood to create the removable bottom for your roaster.
- 4). Cut out a piece of 3 by 4 feet wire mesh. Nail this to one of your 3 by 4 pieces of wood about 1 foot from the bottom of the board.
- 5). Place one of the 2 by 3 boards next to this board and nail them together to create the beginning of a box shape. Make sure the metal snaps are facing downwards.
- 6). Repeat the process with the other 2 by 3 piece of wood to create a partial box shape. Stand this up lengthwise on the ground and place the other 3 by 4 piece of wood against the 2 by 3 board ends.
- 7). Attach the wire mesh to this second 3 by 4 piece of wood. Nail the board to the rest of the box to create a box without a top or bottom.
- 8). Place the 2 by 4 piece of wood with snaps against the bottom of the box and attach it with the metal snaps to hold it in place.
- 9). Attach your 2 by 4 lid to the box by nailing them together using your hinges on one of the narrow ends. Close the lid and nail metal snaps on the other end to hold the box shut while you cook.
