Movies They Were Better Then

I'm not the type of person that likes to dwell on the past, but, to me, things were a lot more easy going back in the "olden days". Prices for things was the biggest difference of all memories. Even entertainment was much more affordable and that meant a lot for people who worked hard all day and needed a form of relaxation. The price for a movie ticket now is really ridiculous and if you are taking the whole family, it could cost you a fortune.

Movies played a big part in the entertainment industry then, just as they do now. Year's ago, before television, you were able to go to the movie theater and not only see a movie, but you would watch a news reel before it and a cartoon after it. You really got your money's worth! The movies that were being played starred the most recent discovered actor's and actresses who were very dedicated and hard working. Not only that but they were true artists who loved their work, as opposed to being addicted to attention and fame like a lot of todays actors.

The salary that actor's were getting in the past was no where near the crazy salaries actor's are getting now. They were paid less and they worked longer and harder. The money that performers receive now to do a film, is truly unbelievable. The films from the past took a long time to make and the spots where they were shot, were real. Not too many were done on the studio setting like they are done now.

Some of the movies that I view now, have people in them that I never heard of. I don't mind it if they are good, but most of the time they are not. When you watched a movie for the first time year's ago, with an actresss you never heard of before, you enjoyed their performance and you would remember them forever. There was so much charm and personality in people back then.

Action scenes in films from the past were done over and over until they got it just right and with no special effects. Now when you see such events on the screen, a simple explosion or fire or some form of disaster, get's a little bit exaggerated with special effects and extended time. Even the love scenes from classics, were a lot more convincing then the overrated love scenes on screen now. They were done with class and dignity, in stead of sexuality. It seems movies today want to focus on tenage mentality with big over the top explosions and overly sexy groaping scenes, yuck!

The comedy that was done on screen back then, was fit for only certain actor's to pull off. If you were the right person, you got the laughs and the money you deserved. Now we have a form of comedy on film, that almost any funny person could pull off no matter what the line is as long as the money is good. Most of the comedy in movies today is perverted or just plain immature.

While a film is being shot today, when the sun goes down everyone goes home. When the weather is bad, you have to come back another day. Whenever anything goes wrong, you get time off. I like the movies from the past more than the one's we have to view now, because of the dedication and hard work that was displayed by the whole motion picture crew. They worked around the clock to put out a great movie for a great audience. The feeling was more of a form of art than anything, but now it just all feels so generic. I know there are exceptions to this rule but usually they are overlooked or few and far in between. So if you really want to watch some entertaining stuff on the big screen, go see a retro or black and white movie if your local theatre is showing any, you won't be disappointed!
