Business & Finance Social Media

What You Post on Facebook Is Either Making or Breaking Your Business and Your Brand!

You made a decision to launch your small business or your home based business and you decided to leverage Facebook to grow your business and expand your brand.
Congratulations! It is great that you have made some stride in your business and you are moving towards strengthening your social media strategy! Next, you get onto Facebook and you are posting, and posting, and posting, and posting, and sharing, and sharing, and nothing is happening! What is the deal you are wondering? Why isn't anyone responding to you, you are wondering? What is the real purpose of having a Facebook page for business you are wondering? Key word being -"purpose!" The key to properly leveraging Facebook into your business and branding strategy in efforts of growing your business and your brand is to "Post on Purpose" when you are on Facebook.
What do I mean by "post on purpose?" Ask yourself the following questions before you post content onto your business page.
  1. Would I pay attention to this post or would it be meaningless to me?
  2. Is this post going to add value to my readers?
  3. Will my readers find enjoyment in this post?
  4. Will my readers be able to relate to this post?
  5. What is my ultimate point and what is my ultimate purpose in this post?
Now if you are new to Facebook, you are probably saying to yourself, my ultimate purpose is to "make a sale - to get some customers.
" It is totally understandable if this is/was your view, but this just doesn't work and is the wrong approach not only on Facebook but in business in general.
In business - when it comes to Facebook at least - your point and your purpose should be to establish and build relationships first and foremost and the way to do this is by posting on purpose.
When you post on purpose by finding your readers sweet spot, you are then able to build relationships and turn your Facebook fans into repeat fans that come back to your page to be fed (via your content) over and over and over again.
Your repeat fans eventually become your customers! The question then becomes, when will your repeat fans on Facebook become paying customers? Unfortunately, that isn't something that you control entirely but you do control that indirectly.
How? You do so by posting on purpose and by posting things that offer value and doing so with consistency.
In addition to posting valuable content with consistency you also want to pay close attention to a few other things as well, especially when it comes to building and expanding your brand using Facebook as well as other Social Mediums.
Ask yourself these questions:
  1. What will other people (my target market) think of the way that I look in this video?
  2. What will other people (my target market) think of the way that I sound in this video?
  3. What will people (my target market) think about the way that I word my content in this post?
  4. What will people (my target market) think about where I'm at in this video?
Today we often like to take the "Who Cares What Other People Think of Me" stance but when it comes to building a business, a requirement to growth will require the ability to take into account what other people (your target market) think of you! If your target market is articulate, educated professional individuals that have incomes of at least one hundred thousand dollars annually, you have to fit that part! You have to be able to attract your target market, no matter what business you are in which again reiterates why "being on purpose and posting on purpose" is so critical.
