- 1). Place toilet and other paper products out of your dog's reach in each room of the house, as well as porches, patios and yards.
- 2). Say the word "no" in a firm, but gentle voice if the dog begins to tear or eat paper.
- 3). Place your dog by itself in another room for 10 minutes after issuing the "no" voice command.
- 4). Remove the paper product and allow your dog to rejoin you.
- 5). Provide your dog with a veterinarian-approved chew toy or edible chew treat. When your dog begins to play with the appropriate toy or treat, give praise and encourage it to continue playing.
